Overview
A regional workforce solution to the demand for Commercial Truck Drivers in the combined service areas of Chatham, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore, and Randolph counties.
The Commercial Driver License (CDL) course prepares students for the Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL). Instruction includes theory, and practical hands-on behind-the-wheel operation of tractor trailers preparing students to safely operate tractor trailer vehicles on the road to and from pickup and delivery points. Emphasis is placed on defensive driving, Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations, trip planning, cargo handling, vehicle systems, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and accident prevention. Upon successful completion, students will be able to demonstrate the skills required for the commercial driver license and employment.

How long is the course?
The Commercial Truck Driver course totals 428 hours, and is 10-weeks total. Check all course schedules at:
What is required for registration?
A Commercial Learner Permit (Class A) is required. Contact us to receive instructions for completing a DOT Physical and DOT Drug and Alcohol screen.
Do I need a High School Diploma or GED to take the course?
No. Registrants must be able to read and write proficiently.
Can I register for CDL training if I have a felony?
Yes.
Will you assist with job placement?
Recruiter(s) may visit to speak with students about employment opportunities.
